Representing the Breed

My two horses have been representing the Rocky Mountain Horse Association at the Western States Expo in Sacramento, California and the Equine Affaire in Pomona California. In order to be able to have your horses represent the breed you have to video the horses in gait and then have the Advertising Committee review the tape and feel that those horses are good examples of the breed, a correct gait is very important, not all gaited horses gait correctly. I have ridden some Rockies that I would have had a smoother ride on a Quarter Horse.

This was the first time the Rocky Mountain Breed was featured at the Expo in Sacramento, California. The response was overwhelming.

  Equine Affaire (2004)

Jewel was used all three days in the Elizabeth Graves Clinic held at the Equine Affaire in Pomona, California, which really helped promote the breed. It drew a great number of people to visit the booth.

Here Caliber and Jewel are finishing the drill at the Saturday Night Show. The thought of letting the Rockies perform for a longer time period was shared by quite a few of the spectators the next day.
